WAMS-AO is offering an opportunity to all incoming 7th and 8th grade boys to be a member of the basketball team.

The season runs from mid November to mid February. The team will meet three times per week for a combination of practices and games. The team competes in the CJJSAA middle school league and will play a tournament at the end of the season.

For the 2023-24 season we will offer a team of both 7th and 8th graders as well as a 7th grade only team for the boys.  All teams will practice together.  

Tryouts: November 6, 7, & 8th, 2023 in the WAMS Gym from 2:30-4:30pm.

There will be a first round of cuts after the second tryout and the final roster will be determined after the tryout on the 8th. 

Please arrive to the gym dressed and with your own labeled basketball and a labeled water bottle.

Sign in, get a number and then follow the coach's instructions. Students should not wear clothing with their name or any travel/club/team name.
Team selection is based solely on talent displayed at the tryout.
NO 6TH GRADERS may tryout.
Parents and/or Spectators are not permitted  at the tryout. 

Every student that registers on www.wamsao.com for tryouts MUST submit an Athletic Pre-Participation Physical and/or a Health History Update. Please check out our FORMS Tab and FAQs tab to learn more about which form you need to submit. Forms are due by October  26th and must be submitted electronically via Genesis, under the FORMS tab.   If there is an issue uploading them, please email [email protected]. No late submissions will be accepted.

The approximate cost for team members is $295. This is paid after tryouts conclude.

There are no refunds.

Basketball Tryouts are open to 7th and 8th graders ONLY. Once you register there is a nonrefundable tryout fee.

Registration will open on  Oct. 2rd, 2023 at 12 noon and and close on  Oct 26th.  No  registration forms will be accepted after  that date. 
Registration includes:  (1)  Registering on our website and  (2) Submitting a physical form via Genesis.
